Taipei, Taiwan - February 20, 2023

Ontario-Taiwan Facilitated Online High School program for Home-School and Self-Study Students Now Available in Taiwan.

Borderless Education is proud to announce the launch of a new facilitated online high school program for home-school and self-study students in Taiwan. The program is aimed at providing students with a flexible opportunity to earn the internationally recognized Ontario secondary school diploma (OSSD), preparing them for success at universities in Canada and beyond.

The facilitated high school program is powered by TVO ILC, the online learning partner of the Ontario Ministry of Education. It is designed for students in grades 9-12 who are currently being home-schooled in Taiwan or for self-study students interested in learning under the Ontario curriculum outside of their traditional Taiwanese high school program. TVO ILC courses are recognized by the Taiwan education bureau for home-schooling students.

"We are delighted to offer this comprehensive program to home-school and self-study students in Taiwan," said Gary Lau, Program Manager of Borderless Education. "The program provides a unique and convenient opportunity for students to receive a high-quality online education that is tailored to their individual needs, while also earning an Ontario high school diploma that is recognized by universities around the world."

The program is facilitated by a team of Ontario-certified teachers (OCT) from Borderless Education who will provide English-language support and personalized guidance to students. Students will check in once a week with their OCT teacher facilitators to set learning goals, determine learning strategies and review resources in an all-English learning environment, which will ensure that students stay engaged and are motivated to learn.

“We believe this new program is a game-changer for home-school students and parents in Taiwan,” said Grace Hsieh, parent of a grade 10 student. “My daughter will benefit by graduating high school with an internationally recognized diploma, while still enjoying the flexibility of being home-schooled in Taiwan. Our family is interested to send our daughter to Canada or the United States for university education, and graduating with the OSSD will give her the opportunity to study abroad.”

The program is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Interested students and parents can learn more about the program and how to apply by visiting the program's website at https://www.learningisborderless.com/high-school-program.
